Historical Flooding 1930-1966

Levee failures are not rare occurrences in the Delta. Since original reclamation, each of the 70 islands or tracts has flooded at least once. The map shows those islands that flooded one or more times between 1930 and 1966. In some cases, the cost of repairs exceeded the appraised value of the land.
